The work behind the work.

"I want people to see our brand and KNOW it is Willowdale"

The Problem:

"I want people to see our brand and KNOW it is Willowdale"

Willowdale had gone through a couple of stages of brand development. They had done their own logo, had students work on their logo, and were now ready to kick it up a knotch. The client wanted the brand to be consistent, unique, fun, but not childish. One thing was apparent, it needed to be rooted in outdoor play and authenticity- much like the brand.

Brand Identity and Collateral

The Approach

With a play based outdoor curriculum we walked a fine line between fun and childish. Because the client wanted to stick to the 4 seasons and also had a strong story line of her hometown we had strong visual links to pull the brand together. We used mature nature derived colors, typography maps, and natural shapes to build the brand elements.

The Results

We created a brand identity that spands all platforms and stands out amoung the outdoor play and learning offerings in the area. We leaned into the story of the clients past and played off of her hometown story while also making the brand univeral to all viewers. The feedback from the clients first touch with the brand: "I love both the topography map and rock images as the backgrounds for social media and our website, and I appreciate the sample social media post, too. I love the submark logo and the and the logo mark; it's exactly what I wanted, someone can look at either of these and KNOW it represents Willowdale!" After the brand was deliver we then went on to make collateral to launch the brand!

Note From the Client

"Not only did she redesign our brand, we almost immediately when to her for collateral material such as flyers, business cards and social media templates to ensure our marketing materials are aligned with our new brand. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome and highly recommend her work and will continue to work with Amey on future projects."
